Bread With Bread Is Food For Fools (Pan Con Pan, Comida De Tontos)
The growth of the bakery industry in Latin America is not rapid. Currently, over 80% of household bread is supplied by artisan bakeries, highlighting their significant presence in the market. While many traditional butchers and grocery stores are fading away, neighbourhood bakeries continue to thrive and resist extinction.
Consumers remain loyal to artisanal flatbreads, pastries, and cakes, favouring them over packaged alternatives. However, commercial bakeries are making inroads by changing current recipes, bringing new packaging and introducing new items that can compete with local products.
Looking ahead, the Latin American bakery market is projected to grow at an annual rate of 7.09% in the coming years.
